The Mammoth" at its thinnest point is 37-oz./LY of some of the finest wool available and, at it's thickest, a staggering 65-oz./LY. This jacket is so robustly built in fact, we debated on including a warning label with the care instructions.

Absolutely love the jacket. Fit has been spot on and overall comfortable for being a wool jacket. The details are impressive and I love the finishing. Others have talked about the storm cuff being tighter which will apparently be improved in future versions, so outside of that I am very pleased with this jacket and would recommend for anyone. Worth every penny!
Ive got about 4 different denium jackets, this one is by far the nicest. It takes a little bit to losen after the first ware, as all selvage heavyweight items do. Its a good weight, and will be an easy choice for the colder weather. The number of pokets fits my daily use quite well. I shoved a pocketnotes journal into the inside pocket quite easily on one day.

This is the first wool jacket I've ever bought, and I'm glad it was the Mammoth. The jacket is built like a tank, I don't see how I could ever reasonably do anything to damage this beast of a jacket, and I expect that I'll be wearing it for many, many years. Like some people have said, the storm cuffs are slightly loose, but I don't really mind because I layer the jacket with a hoodie anyway (not that I need to because it's so warm) one thing I really appreciate is how the jacket isn't itchy, I have really sensitive skin and flare-ups happen easily with me, but this isn't the case with the Mammoth. This just feels like a product that was made with a lot of love and a lot of attention to detail, and it really shows, this is definitely a jacket that I'm proud to own.
Just received it. My God. It's a hefty boy, and I love it. Arrived in a week. Shipping was super quick. As everyone has already said, it's a great jacket and measurements are accurate. Yes, the storm cuffs are loose, however it allows for extra layering if need be and Michael said it would be fixed for the next iteration.
When I ordered, I asked if it was the new batch, and he was very forthright in telling me it wasn't, and that he could cancel the order and refund it I wanted to wait (spoiler alert: I didn't).
Overall very pleased. Was hoping to get a but it for life jacket and I'm hoping time will prove me right.
P.S, the buttons are HEAVY as shit. Took me 3 mins just to unbutton it lmao. All hail corozo
Absolutely beautiful jacket, fit perfectly after being washed and feeling it soften over time is awesome. I'll be wearing it for a long time.
Very good jacket. I have worn it in both rain and snow no problems. The large pockets are amazing, especially the duck pocket. The wool has a very nice texture and the subtle check pattern is just amazing. I’ve also gotten compliments almost every time I’ve worn it which is pretty cool. As others have mentioned the storm cuffs aren’t as tight as other jackets, but it’s not really a problem for me since it makes the jacket easier to layer compared to jackets with tighter storm cuffs. If I had a suggestion for future versions it would be to add a small interior chest pocket with a button on it for small items like chapstick, train tickets, receipts, etc.
I was sad boy when I missed the very first drop of this jacket. I pined and longed for restocks. I think I missed the first restock too. I was quite happy to see it had restocked again and fired away. Couldn’t wait to receive it and boy howdy did it get here fast.
Lemme tell ya about this thing. The jacket is just B-E-A-Utiful. Love the little details. The buttons with the Iron Snail logo is a lovely touch. I even love the pocket flasher that comes on the jacket with the tail of the iron snail. Lastly the patch is very fetching and matches the colors of the jacket incredibly well. I’m still deciding if I’ll sew it on or use elsewhere. All in all it’s instantly become one of my new favorite jackets.
Very much look forward to seeing this one age and fade and conform to me wearing it over time.

The jacket is an amazing design, with superior materials, and is an unbelievable value. Not much else to be said. I will be purchasing more 🐌 in the future that’s for sure!
In short, The Mammoth is an excellent jacket by every measure. It makes my Filson Mackinaw look flimsy by comparison and I love all the extra features.
I took a size S based on the measurements and Michael's recommendation based on my Filson size. The jacket fits well, with room for serious layering underneath. The sleeves are a touch long but they don't ride up when I raise my arms.
The lining makes The Mammoth easy to slip on and very comfortable to wear. I tried it on over a short sleeve t-shirt and it wasn't itchy at all. I can't speak for how well the Wind Wall works in winter weather at the moment but it does make my torso quite toasty. The main body fabric is thick, dense, and the pattern goes with pretty much everything. I'm also a big fan of the buttons, they feel dense and they have a nice shine to them. I love how big and functional the locking collar is. Once it's flipped up it feels impenetrable.
QC/finishing could use a little work. I couldn't spot any issues in terms of construction but I spent a good while getting rid of all the loose threads. The collar button also came loose after I used the locking collar for the first time but I just sewed it back on.
The biggest issue I have with the jacket is how loose the storm cuffs are. Like other customers have stated, the storm cuffs don't really close around my wrists and there's actually a good amount of space between my wrist and the storm cuff. I'd like to see the storm cuffs tightened up on future versions of The Mammoth. Also, the key clip is secured to the jacket with just a single line of stitching. I’m sure it will hold but it doesn't really inspire confidence. That’s just a nitpick though.
Despite these issues, The Mammoth is an outstanding jacket. If you’re considering purchasing this type of jacket, The Mammoth should be at the very top of your list.

The mammoth jacket is incredibly dense and warm and I am astonished at the sheer weight of it whenever I pick it up. It is overwhelmingly solid and robust, yet I do not feel restricted in any significant way while wearing it.
Stylistically, it exceeds all marks as well. I look like a superstar when I put it on, and it's quality is so outwardly apparent that strangers will regularly comment on it, asking where they can get one. Additionally, the fit is right on the money. Perfectly true to size.
If I had to nitpick anything, it would be that a large amount of loose thread-ends were present on the jacket when I received it, but a few minutes with some scissors sorted it out to no detriment.
In terms of improvements, the biggest candidate is the storm cuffs. They could certainly be much tighter around my wrists in order to properly keep the warm air in. The launch model has rather loose storm cuffs as reported by myself and one other jacket owner I have spoken too.
