Two Weeks To Lift-Off (or less)

Snail Mail #8
Hello all, I’m BAAAAAAAAAAACK!
Thursday is here, you know what that means: I got another parking ticket. I also had my annual physical and once again had to look a poor phlebotomist in the eyes as consciousness slipped from my grasp. Kidding, I didn’t pass out, but Erica (my phlebotomist) told me I needed to lie down as she ran out of the room and grabbed me a juice box (I was 100% going to pass out).
Anyway, that’s neither here nor there. Today, we talk denim, finally…kinda. The Prologue V2 is being polished up as we speak; Chapter 1 jean production samples are being sewn, and the Leaf Line is preparing for its debut. I’m gunning to have them up on the site in under two weeks. I'm usually a little too optimistic, but this time I'm optimistic.
Since we have a wee spot of time left before I have pictures of the pieces, I’d like to instead show you some graphics Mr. JustOkay, Ali, and I whipped up.
The Mammoth (and its new friends) news will be coming shortly; I don’t want to bombard you with updates until I have some sweet pictures to show you. However, I will provide one tease from our good friend Sam Goates at Woven in The Bone.
Denim Time
These are the original sketches for the Chapter 1 jean graphics, drawn by Ali. We didn’t end up going with any of them, but I still love them and will most likely incorporate them somewhere and in someway in the future. Regardless, they're a good representation of what the tale behind the jeans will be. If you don’t know, all Iron Snail products (except smaller pieces like t-shirts perhaps) come with a book that tells the tale behind the piece and then provides a care guide in the back. The jeans are called “Chapter 1” because they are chapter one of the tale. “The Prologue” is precisely what it sounds like, the prologue. As the brand grows and we release more pieces, the story will grow along with it.
Speaking of The Tales
Depending on which denim piece you order, you’ll get one of these books (Chapter 1 won’t have a teal guideline on it don’t worry). The artist behind these is Matt, aka Mr. JustOkay (owner of justokay.co). Admittedly, I got carried away writing “Chapter 1,” and now its 30 something pages long. I don’t know if anyone reads the stories, but either way, I’m having fun writing them and have a huge tale planned for the next few years.
The Ol' Flasher
We actually aren’t running a flasher on the jeans. It seems a bit silly to send you a 34-page book AND then also have a flasher on the jeans themselves. Personally, whenever I get jeans that have a beautiful flasher on the butt, I end up holding onto it for a few weeks because I don’t know what to do with it, then I throw it away. Here’s hoping the book has a little bit more staying power! Please note the size of the ships near the creature’s body. This is a big ol’ thing.
Finally, there are a few little giveaways on this flasher (pardon the “16” looking a bit off; I had to change it for this email and didn’t have the source file). The 100% hemp pockets will be talked about next week; I’m obsessed with hemp now. I had a study done on hemp. It’s amazing. Big fan.
In Conclusion
I hope you’re all well. Apologies for the slowdowns in emails as of late. I’m running around a LOT lately trying to get these pieces completed!
WAHOOOOOOO DENIM TIME BABY!
